Files have a 9 field structure: Organisation, Premise/POB, Street, Locality, PostTown, County, Postcode, N/L and Sortcode.

"Locality" information is provided where present; it is used in the minority of UK addresses. Where present "County" is that of the "postal county" and is no longer required to be used. The constituents of an address vary; certain fields always hold information e.g. "PostTown" and "Postcode". All records include the RM postcode categorisation in field 8 of Non-Residential or Large User (single delivery points & PO Boxes) plus in field 9 the Sortcode to enable cost saving if a RM Sortcode scheme client.
